James Gurovitsch

James D. Gurovitsch is a pioneer in the field of collaborative divorce. He is one of the founding members of and helped organize the Collaborative Law Institute, an organization that trains lawyers and other professionals in Collaborative Divorce Practice. He is a past president of the Collaborative Law Institute and served on its Board of Directors for 12 years. He helped write practice protocols for collaborative divorce professionals and serves as chair of the Institute’s Quality Assurance Committee.

Mr. Gurovitsch has for more than 30 years maintained an “A-V” rating by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. This is the highest possible peer review rating in legal ability and ethical standards. He has over 45 years of experience in providing clients with capable, cost-effective representation in resolving divorce and other family law issues. He also practices in the areas of wills, estate planning and real estate. As a sole practitioner, he is accessible to clients and responsive to clients’ needs. He believes divorce issues should be resolved promptly and in a dignified and respectful manner without unnecessary expense to the parties.
